The Fatherhood Travel Experience
Service Description
A journey of discovery, healing, and readiness—for young people who deserve more than survival. The Fatherhood Travel Experience is more than a trip. It’s a structured, life-changing journey designed for young people aged 16–21 who are growing up without a mother or father figure. In a landscape where youth support is too often generic, shallow, or inaccessible, we’ve created a four-day retreat that blends natural beauty with deep learning. Here, transformation becomes tangible. We take 16 young men from single-parent households into the heart of the Lake District—an environment that strips away distraction and invites reflection, challenge, and change. It’s not just about escaping old surroundings. It’s about entering a new mindset, supported by mentors who’ve lived the same realities and found their way through. From luxury accommodation in a castle to real-world outdoor activities, our experience builds resilience, unlocks maturity, and strengthens skills that support independence. Participants leave not just with memories, but with tools—ready to walk a different path than the one life first handed them. What We Do Each cohort of participants joins us for four days in the Lake District, where they are fully immersed in structured learning, adventure, and healing. They’ll experience: Outdoor adventures including trek walking, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, and speed boating. A warm, secure stay in a luxury castle residence, offering dignity, safety, and comfort. Full meals provided throughout, designed to support physical wellbeing and energy for demanding activities. Daily classes and workshops including: Law & Street Awareness: covering topics such as knife carrying, police interaction, curfews, housing discrimination, and real consequences. Mentorship & Healing Sessions: reflective conversations around loss, forgiveness, identity, and building a new way forward. Independent Life Skills Workshops: cooking, financial literacy, mindset development, and basic domestic preparation. First Aid Training: taught by certified professionals to equip participants with emergency response capability and public safety awareness. Every moment is intentional. Every step, swim, climb, or conversation serves a purpose. Outdoor Activities That Stretch the Soul and Mind We believe nature holds lessons textbooks cannot teach. When young people conquer hills, navigate lakes, or confront physical challenge, they learn something deep and last
